I came across a Velar forum (bit premature!) that had photos...will dig the URL to the pics out when I'm back at the computer.

Sad day - cheerio to my Volvo dealer...
Well we're starting the series of 'lasts'....
Picked up my XC60 tonight from Clelands Volvo. They had completed the service and changed the number plate back to the original registration from my personalised plate. Felt a bit sad really as I shook hands, had a bit of banter and watched as our XC60 was brought to the front of the dealership. Eleven years of Volvo through them, a fair chunk of my life. Our XC90 and then the XC60 have brought us great joy - Austria, Italy, Norway, Denmark, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium as well as various trips across the length & breadth of the UK. Volvo for Life, as they say. It's not quite the end with Clelands though - they have agreed to continue swapping my winter & summer wheels twice a year...... so I might be back with Volvo yet! Tidied up all of the XC60 paperwork into a neat folder - original invoices, service records, brochures and Service Book etc. Looking forward to the F-Pace but feel, at this moment, a bit sad and that it is a landmark moment. Best wishes everyone. Arianne

Pre-delivery inspection today...
Well folks, I saw my Jaguar F-Pace for the first time today and she looks gorgeous!
Today was the day I popped across to the Lloyds Jaguar in Kelso (the folks who bought the franchise from Clelands in January) so that I could 'forensically' examine my new car before signing off on the deal and collecting her next Saturday. This is an indulgence of the heart rather than a 'workaday car' and so it needs to be absolutely perfect in every way possible. I enjoyed every minute of my visit, having waited almost a year for this day! The car was almost perfect. I found the tiniest paint chip low down on the leading edge of the door sill which could have been caused by a stone kicking up from the road test I asked the dealership to undertake so they could check for rattles, cabin noises and running gear. Or it may have been like that from the factory, who knows. And a plastic grille, just inside the bonnet which catches leaves and other debris doesn't fit snugly - small issue but don't want that vibrating at 120mph on the autobahn like my previous XC90 did, aagh! Otherwise, gorgeous and perfect. I thought I had spotted another glitch in that only the nearside mirror tilts downwards on reverse, whereas the Volvo can have both or either. But that's the way the Jaguar is designed which is a shame - on that count it's Volvo 1-0 Jaguar. Otherwise the car is fabulous and beautifully prepared. I spent time with them over a cuppa chatting about cars and the birth of babies (don't ask, it's just that my Sales Exec has just welcomed his first child into his family having returned from Paternity Leave). Mrs A and the lad didn't bother coming as they said they would get bored. All in all, a lovely day. Looking forward to next Saturday very much. So far, so very good. Expect a thorough write-up. Apologies in advance if this isn't your thing but I feel the need to complete the thread and keep my promise to the small group of forum members who have asked that I provide an honest assessment of the Jaguar, the dealer experience and the big day. And then, after that, I will shut-up and the thread can RIP should other forum members wish. Regards to all. Arianne

I've seen 3 F Paces in the last two days. Each one made my head turn. 1 x white, wrong, 1 x black, cool, 1 x deep red, classy. The red wins it for me.

She is amazing but, in all truth, there are some things not quite as good as my Volvo. I have mentioned the dipping reverse mirrors. The sound system isn't quite as bright and distinct as my premium sound system in the XC60. Meridian (the Jaguar hifi supplier) state in their website that they specialise in a natural sound. Personally, I prefer the enhanced full graphic equaliser effect. Budget ran out such that I couldn't upgrade from the 380w mid-range system in the F-Pace S. My mid-range system has eleven speaker and subwoofers etc. But the Volvo is that tiny bit better for sound IMHO. I also wanted cowled analogue dials as I like it better but upgrading the hifi further meant the full Audi TT lookalike TFT display was mandatory. I like the Volvo TFT as it's proportionate but not the full-on Audi & Jaguar interpretations. Swings and roundabouts though. Have a lovely Sunday. Arianne
