I might be wrong but I am sure that discounts on new XC90s a few months back were heading towards 15% and there were good finance offers (ie 0% on HP). I am sure that on the PCP scheme there were also dealer and Volvo deposit contributions.

I am sure that even the affinity scheme was offering 10% with free metallic and a few other bits too.

Now I have just looked and the best from Drive the Deal is 10% off list and the finance is less generous too. Affinity is at 7.5% and there are no contributions for the finance.

So, is it just me, or have the deals dried up? Are they likely to come back anytime soon I wonder?

I haven't been searching as such, but get a promotional email from DriveTheDeal every few weeks, I always have a look at the XC90 and haven't seen them with anything more than 11.5%. Last couple:

14/5/18 : Volvo XC90 2.0 T8 [390] Hybrid Momentum 5dr AWD Gtron £55,436 Save 11.5%

2/5/18 : Volvo XC90 2.0 T8 [390] Hybrid Momentum 5dr AWD Gtron £55,437 Save 11.5%

Did you mean dealer deposit contribution and manufacturer’s deposit contribution ON TOP of the 15% off the list price?

I wonder if it is due to demand, Volvo sales are up 40% in the UK. As the XC40 and XC60 are already sold out for 2018 delivery I expect the XC90 would also be close to selling out.Don’t forget that Volvo are also on a global roll with sales so making right hand drive models might be lower down on there list of plans. Every new Volvo that has launched since the new XC90 has been a bigger success than anyone thought. Certainly people who have tried Volvo for the first time have only done so because of how good the new cars are and the very attractive finance available-they will no doubt be thinking about residual values now they have a residual value manager and might want to keep demand high and sales as low as possible but still make large double digit growth!

Yep this! XC40 is new cash cow, so they can probably refocus on maintaining residuals for now. Of course this helps sales too, albeit via increased RV reducing lease costs

For any registrations before end of June volvo loyalty offer applies on top of any discount -3k off xc90. There is probably still a week left to find a build slot that can be modified that will deliver in time.
That was there before though. The max I could get on maxed out t8 was 19.4% all in with March delivery. It was more on d5/t5 as 3k represented higher percentage.
They are bound to play around with discounts to test elasticity of demand. I also think recent sterling performance has not helped.

You might like to see what prices 'CarWow' can get for you.

It's a much better way to buy a new (or used ) car and I think you would be amazed.
