Default Dash noise

When open the car, the dash board makes a mechanical sound.
Its a whirring which appears to come from the sat nav area. It lasts about ten seconds, stop and repeats around three times.
This of course could be a red herring.

Obviously a noise is impossible to describe in words but does anyone else experience this 🤔🤔

There are many bits of electronics that become active as son as the door is opened. Many of those items calibrate themselves.
One thing could be the CD player if it is a loud noise. It may be searching for a disc but usually they are not active until the key is is the ignition.
There are also motorised heater flaps in the dash that also calibrate. It could also be the sat nav checking for a disc? The noise could be coming in from the bulkhead where there are many sensors that buzz and whine.
Good luck with the search.

Sounds like the air intake swirl throttle motor recalibrating (if does occasionally). Next time you hear this, pop the bonnet open and see if the noise is coming from the front top section of engine, driver's side.
