Default Car colour

Hi all

I’m in the process of ordering a rear spoiler online for the XC70, they can paint it as well, I was wondering how I find what black my car is, it’s a metallic black in a 2008 XC70.

There is a list of paint codes here:
https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/paint_colour_codes.shtml

On your car's body plate there should be a number that corresponds with one of the blacks or anthracites on this list. The body plate is the sticker with the axle weights, etc on it - nowadays located below the hinge of the rh rear door pillar.

You can also dig out a relevant price list from the following list to see which colours were available in any particular MY.(currently only available from 2011 onwards unfortunately, but included here in case anyone else with a later car needs the same info). https://www.volvocars.com/uk/leasing...mys-pricelists

Lastly, you could ask a dealer parts desk what colour your car is. They will just need a reg no or VIN number

Out of interest, are you able to share more details? Cost/seller?
Will be interested to see the end result.

I’ve hankered after one for a while, but never been convinced by the effort vs reward in getting one from Eastern Europe via eBay.
Seen a few full tailgates with spoilers from scrapped cars, but never in my colour, so never follewed up.

No problem at all, this is the one I’ve been messaging- it’s £80 for the spoiler, I’ve just received a message from them too, the paintings an extra £120

Hi all

A quick update on this, for Big Ted

I’ve finally got round to fitting it, the quality of the item is great, there was a delay in the painting, but the finish is very impressive, the fitting is quite fiddly (hoping it till stay on...) Quite pleased with the look though.

Apart from the eye candy factor, what does this spoiler contribute? Does it keep the rear screen cleaner or have an appreciable effect on high speed stability? Or is it just eye candy? I'm always looking at objects of desire for my XC70. Should I be wanting one of these?

The spoiler keeps a little road spray off the rear screen but not much . I fitted one to my V70 . Finishes off the car and looked great but apart from that no other benefits

Hi James, Thanks for the info. Been looking for one for mine.

Did the spoiler just attach with adhesive or is it fixed using bolts (as per the Volvo original)?

Thanks.
