Question changing cambelt

My V70 2.4, 20v is coming up to a cambelt change. I have read some where that the pre-tensioners should also be changed at the same time. Would anyone know whether this is right and if so are they an expensive part. Thanks

Change the pre tensioner and rollers, I would suggest that you even change the water pump depending on the mileage.

I have this job to do and I'm changing the lot.

Default changing cambelt

Thanks Red-Arrow, would you mind giving me an idea of price for the pre-tensioner and rollers. Garage charges here in spain differ dramatically and I don`t want to be fleeced. Thanks Jack

Jack, I'm in France and 'Ouest Injection' quoted me around 750€ for a cambelt kit & water pump change. This was for my 850 2.5GLT 20v.

If you are going DIY, then I'd try a pm to 'Rufe' on here for OE stuff. Even with postage it'll likely be cheaper than your mainstealers.

Alternatively try:

Good luck
