changing cambelt
My V70 2.4, 20v is coming up to a cambelt change. I have read some where that the pre-tensioners should also be changed at the same time. Would anyone know whether this is right and if so are they an expensive part. Thanks

changing cambelt
Thanks Red-Arrow, would you mind giving me an idea of price for the pre-tensioner and rollers. Garage charges here in spain differ dramatically and I don`t want to be fleeced. Thanks Jack

Jack, I'm in France and 'Ouest Injection' quoted me around 750€ for a cambelt kit & water pump change. This was for my 850 2.5GLT 20v.
If you are going DIY, then I'd try a pm to 'Rufe' on here for OE stuff. Even with postage it'll likely be cheaper than your mainstealers. Alternatively try: http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/ http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/Car-Parts http://www.mister-auto.com/ http://www.skandix.de/en/?bi=4bb96c0...4ef1bdf417c1bb Good luck
