RE: Drivers door catching wing
A common fault is for the check strap to fail. The bracket on the A pillar broke on my car so I welded it back on.
Its strange that your door is catching the wing. Maybe the hinge bolts have come loose and the door has dropped? Simon |

RE: Drivers door catching wing
Hi,
if you sight along the door towards the front wing, can you see the trailing edge of the wing (that edge that nearly meets the door) being not in line with the door skin? The wing at this point is quite thin and poorly supported. It's very easy for something or someone to push against it and distort it in slightly. The door will then catch the wing when you try to open it. This happened to me in a supermarket carpark when an empty trolly was allowed to roll into it. Fortunately the rubber bump strip took the main force and no scratches ensued). If this is the case the wing can be gently eased back out with some tyre levers protected with cloth.

This happened to me as well when a kind soul hit it in a car park. Although there was no obvious 'dent' the wing was noticably 'depressed' where it met the driver's door. I can confirm that some gentle levering (with adequate protection) will fix it quite easily. |
