Replacement Turbo required
Dear all,
I have read much, but absorbed little, so hope you can help me. The time has come to replace the turbo on my 1994 T5. It is letting oil by and leaking big time now. Can anyone recommend the best/cheapest place to get a reconditioned replacement please? I have read that they can be found for as little as £200 and as much as £700 so want to make sure I dont over spend, but also get a decent replacement. Many thanks, Andy |

RE: Replacement Turbo required
just remember that your car has the early conical type turbo, the turbo on you car will only fit the 1994 and 1995 850's. 1996 and 1997 use a different style.

You could buy a repair kit and recondition it yourself. Someone posted a link to a firm that sells the bits for about £50. I could try and find it if you are interested?
Volvotuning do an exchange turbo with gaskets for about £470 inc. Simon |

And it is worth distinguishing between reconditioned and refurbished... apparently they have quite specific meanings when it comes to turbos!

Hi Andy,
Am going through oil leak process and one of issues addressed is Turbo. When I asked the guy who looks after my R he said He had "several" in the garage if I needed a replacemnt. Give the most excellent Stuart Williams a call, they're not too far from you and it just might save you soem dosh Garage Name: S W Autos Telephone: 01580 291588 Address: Heartsay Garage/Headcorn Rd, Biddenden, Ashford, TN27 8JY |
