Thanks for that Dave. They are not identical to the ones fitted to my car but will probably do the job depending upon the size of the hole in the panel they are to be fitted to and there do appear to be different “fir tree” sizes available.
Just out of interest, does your 765 have them on the bulkhead and various other places in the engine compartment?

Definitely got similar clips/ties on mine Ian, seen similar but not the same on other cars, Volvo seem to have a unique design but it's no better or worse than any others i've seen. Perhaps Volvo could supply them but i would half expect the design to have changed to a more generic design. Could be worth a try though.

Those Cable Ties.
Note to self, “check details before committing to print”.
I tried the main dealer some time ago but they were unable to locate any on their data base. Having had another look at my car there appears to be two slightly different types fitted. Those on the bulkhead have a rectangular section with a “keyhole” slot in it which locates on to a mushroom headed rivet on the body panel. Those elsewhere in the engine compartment seem similar to the “fir tree” type. They fit into a hole about 4 mms in diameter and have a rectangular section which covers that hole. Both types have a disadvantage in that their fixing point is “fixed” relative to the tie itself. The “fir tree” types you have identified would appear to be more practical as it appears that the tie may be moved through the fixing point to suit the particular application it is being used for. Your good and finding stuff aren’t you.

Having quickly trawled for the fir tree ties, there is rather a large variety available, some with a fixed securing point and others with the moveable securing point. It’s even possible to obtain the fixings separately for push fit or screw fit. Amazing what is out there if one knows where to look. Thanks again Dave.

I think it's a case of whoever is buying them makes the choice Ian - with the exception of the fitting hole size, most other variables can be changed. Either way, new ones will look out of place against old ones so might be nice to change all of them, that way the same could be used throughout to keep it all looking uniform. They'll all be nice and new then and less likely to break.
