Default Parking brake light

My parking brake light is starting to come on when I brake.... does this mean that my pads are low?
I thought the (!) light was supposed to come on if there was a brake prob? ... I checked the fluid level anyway and it seems fine.

TIA, Andy.

Check the fluid level in the master cylinder and make sure that the pads have sufficient thickness to work properly. Do you have the pads with the wear indicaters built in? They have a wire from a connection to the pad which when they are getting low on material earth the connection putting on the lamp. The "!" lamp is for ABS.

All the best, Peter.

I thought I had an ABS light for ABS?

The fluid level is fine... I checked that... I assume the pads will have the wire in 'em ... as they've been on since I got it!

The dealer at the last service said my discs wer a bit low... could it be that?
I was told at the performance forum day out I had uprated brakes as they are bigger discs... but looking at the list of parts @ eurocarparts the S70 has bigger discs anyway!... this right?

...anyway .. I'll probly take it down ATS and let them deal with it!...Thanks for the reply!
