Hi Ian,
Without knowing the age of your car, I can't confirm for sure, but for info, the switch on my 2002 V40 works as follows: 0 - All lights on - headlights, running lights, twin rear lights and side lights (daytime running lights) 1 - Side lights only at front, running lights and single pair of rear lights (parking mode) 2 - As per 0 - all lights. If you have a post 2000 car (twin headlights), you can use the daytime running light trick to switch them off at setting 0. Re interior lights, this may be a blown fuse or bulbs? |

Hi and Thanks
I knew I'd forget something yes its a 1997 model, and just to confirm you are saying two sets of lights should come on on the rear. I have only one set coming on (position 0+2) but then I have no sideligts working at all. I have checked the fuses but all are ok. Ian |

I'm saying two sets due to mine being a V40 (estate). I have one set on the body, and one set on the 'hatch' tailgate thingy.. four lights in total
I can't picture the light set up on the S40 so can't advise further. Do you have lights on the boot lid, or do they stop at the boot join. Also, when I say sidelights, the Phase 2 has a separate 501 wedge type sidelight integrated in the headlights. I'm not sure what the Phase 1 has, so you may not get sidelights at Stage 1. Stage 1 is intended to be parking lights only, so you should get some lights to light. Hope this helps, but maybe another Phase 1 owner will be able to provide more info, or correct my inaccuracies. Hi,
Just checked my 98 Phase1 V40. 0 - All lights on - headlights, running lights, twin rear lights and side lights (daytime running lights) (Ignition on) 1 - Side lights only at front, and single pair of rear lights (parking mode) (Ignition off) 2 - As per 0 - all lights and headlamp/dipswitch works. (Ignition on) If you have no interior lights (except the footwell lights) it's probably because your central locking module is disconnected. Does your c/l work?
