Default S40 door lock issue

Pretty sure I've seen this several times somewhere but wanted to check it's the same common fault.

2002 S40, offside rear door won't open, you can see the tab moves up very slightly when unlocking with the fob but stays locked. Once I was in the car, if you press unlock from the inside several times using the switch on the drivers door, it eases itself up eventually after about four presses.

Simple lubrication job or something more sinister? And how easy are the door cards to take off and refit?

Thanks in advance

Can at least share that the door cards are very easy to remove, at least compared to a Jag X-type (multiple clips broken in process): Remove speaker panel, find a screw hidden there, another in the armrest recess, one behind the latch pull, and another couple along the side and bottom. Pop upwards and wiggle out from the door handle.
