I absolutely steered clear of the EFI version of the 240 when buying my two vehicles as a friend of mine replaced the 'black box' twice on his one owner car at around $1000AUD each time. I agree wholeheartedly with the previous posters, they are a very basic system that isn't plagued by electronic gremlins and is very reliable. I've replaced both sets of 'O' rings on my injectors a number of times as this appears to have a significant effect on idling etc particularly the thinner ones...

Oh man! The first time those injector o-rings perished on mine, I had no idea they even existed. I was a young pup at the time and we drove the car for weeks kangarooing out of junctions and hanging on the starter motor to keep it running at idle.

In the meantime, I pulled the whole system apart and spent an absolute fortune swapping out the warm-up regulator and fuel distributor when all the time the problem was a couple of 60p o-rings! I swore so much when an old hand at these told me why my beautiful engine had 'lost the plot'.

Moral of this story: If you've got K-Jetronic and it's running like a bag of spanners, change the injector o-rings... They're possibly the most important part of the system.
