MAP sensor cable cut! Why??

Paulbw New Member Last Online: Jan 10th, 2016 15:19 Join Date: Dec 2015 Location: Huddersfield	MAP sensor cable cut! Why?? Hi all, I have recently purchased an XC90 D5 semi auto. The car great drives fine, the acceleration is as expected alutough very laggy at takeoff and the mpg appears is as expected. Having taken off the engine top cover I've noticed that the MAP sensor cable has been deliberately cut and no attempt has been made to reconnect it. Can anyone advise as to why this would be the case or more importantly what problem was the previous owner trying to work around by doing this? I do have the 'high emissions service required' message appearing. Many thanks Paul
