Default 'Pinking' noise? Plus midlands service rec..

Hi all,

I have a 240 with the B200K engine running LPG. I bough it from someone who's dad had had a pro install done and then 'tinkered' with it until it stopped working.
Anyway I got a general rough running problem sorted out and filled the tank ready for someone to service it and hopefully twiddle the mixture screws back to how they should be. But now I hear a sort of pinking noise from the tank in the boot? Almost like something metallic is on a pendulum knocking it - stationary or moving inconsistently.

Is this something I should be worried about or is it just tank expansion or something?

Anyway, need to get it serviced asap as I may be selling the car so does anyone have experience of someone in the midlands who has a decent reputation?
Thanks

Steve

Clunking for the tank is most likely the float in the tank swinging around. That is normaly worse when the fuel level is low.

Thanks Dai, knew you'd be able to help :-)

Strange though, as it didn't do it when it was empty and now It's full it doesn't.

Don't suppose you're mobile are you? Bit of a trek to Anglesey! Nervous about the nearest place to me......Autogaspol! Has polish routes which can never be a good thing for something that can explode.

Think I will widen the search.

There is a real lack of installers who have any clue about the older mixer systems. It would be nice to for sure that the noise is the float and not anything else.

I don't do much on a mobile basis but there is a chance i can do something for you. I have given up recommending any other installers as I have been let down to many times

I use this company but whether they can help you or not I'm not sure.

Envirogas,

They service my system for me.
