First day of full commute after software update and have to say the gear shift is definitely smoother.

The hesitation pulling away from the usual junction also seemed to have been cured too.

Finally noticed small increase in mpg (2-3 mpg more) although that could be down to recent service and term break traffic.

I’ve just come across this thread and as my XC90 is due to go in for its 1st service next month I’m so excited that the gearbox lag could be improved. For me this is the only thing stopping my car being perfect!
Coming from JLR it’s been a breath of fresh air to of had 12 months trouble free motoring.
Admittedly, driving a 3.0 V6 supercharged is never going to help make the xc90 feel responsive, but it would be nice not to end up stranded on the round about waiting for the gearbox to choose a gear to propel me to the exit.

Contacted the dealer, did some complains about the gearbox IQ. They requested my VIN number and stated: "We were just about to call you for the service action about upgrading the gearbox software".
Right. I have an appointment on Saturday. Will report here

ok, got it. Not a night and day difference, but the car knows which gear should pick now and "goes with more pep" according to my kids
It's especially visible when you go off-throttle to make a turn for example, and then continue to accelerate.

the easiest way to know if you have November update is that if you have a key assigned to the driver profile, it says "assigned to a key" in the drivers profiles list.

Service now completed and a clean bit of health, had to reset all my settings afterwards mind as the software change a lot.

So far I’m not 100% convinced on any improvement with the gearbox logic. I’ll wait a little longer to comment as sometimes I think oh yes that’s better then suddenly I think hmm no.

Agree. Had mine serviced last week. Don't feel any difference, but I have P* so maybe less noticeable.

I thought the polestar optimisation was supposed to improve the transmission?

To be fair today the car has felt much better on roundabouts. Maybe it needed time to “lean” how I drive after being updated
