Hi I have just bought this very pretty little automatic car (I have always loved Volvo's) it has a few issues which my Son (the mechanic) can't seem to fathom out and I wondered if anyone here has any ideas? Firstly the engine is 'hunting' at no specific given time just as and when it feels like it! Also the speedo goes off completeley then the car switches into 3rd gear so I have to manually change gears, again no particular reason just as and when it happens if anyone has any ideas I would be eternally grateful.

Hi Cathy,

I am not a mechanic or an expert on Volvo/ cars in general.

Anyhow after having a few issues with my previous car, I would advise you get someone who knows what they are doing to plug a diagnostics tool into it.

You would think this would be fool proof for anyone with the right equipment, however I had x2 mis-diagnosis saying the ECU on my Peugeot was faulty. I know that was very unlikely, so I foumd an expert who correctly diagnosed a faulty fuel injector.

good luck
