Default Rattling / vibration

Just had my first real drive in my R this morning, and when I get to around 60 - 65mph, I am getting quite a loud rattling noise / vibration
the faster I go, say 70 - 75mph the louder and faster it becomes !
When I lift off the throttle pedal, revs obviously drop, but the rattling continues until speed falls below 60mph so, its surely not rev related ?
Could it be something like an engine mount ?
I'm thinking it cant really be something loose or hanging off (like a connection wire / cable) otherwise it would rattle all the time / at any speed ?
All advice will be much appreciated.

For clarity when you say 'rattling noise / vibration' is it just noise with some high frequency vibration or drumming, or does the car or steering start to shake?
A 20 year old Volvo will have countless rattles from things like plastic trim with broken fixing lugs, but if it is a more serious shaking that would suggest something in the driveline or wheels.

Yes, it's more a vibrating or drumming, would so much say its high frequency though, steering doesn't shake, steering is really good, no vibration or shaking, I doubt if its plastic trim, if so, then it would do it at any speed, not just at around 60mph !

There's a heat shield on the exhaust manifold as well as some underneath the car, between the exhaust and bodywork.
Usually these rust and become loose...worth a trip underneath to check, although if the mounting bolts are rusted could be a pain to refix.

Of course it may not be this, can you try to pinpoint where it's coming from, ie engine bay, suspension or wheels ?

So, I've changed / renewed bad engine mount *which was very badly perished} rattling still there, I've now sussed it and it is heat shield underneath, not easy to get to, need to get it up in the air.
Thanks all for the advice
