340 Rad Replacement Tip - 1991 1.4
Just a tip...
This weekend the rad popped on my 340 so I decided to put in a new one. The parts manuals list the thermal fan switch as a M14 x 1.5 screw-in - but mine wasn't: it was soldered in (which I discovered when I removed it to screw it into the new rad, not having had time to fully dismantle before rushing to the parts shop on Saturday afternoon) - some sort of factory bodge, maybe. So if you need to change your rad - check the fan switch fitting before you have to go back to your faithful parts supplier for a second time... In the same vein - the rad is in front of the bulkhead - as on a 360 - instead of behind it, but is really easy to get out because you don't have to remove the bumper. It comes out of the grille hole but you need a 3/8" drive socket max to reach the mounting screws... |

yeah its a pretty easy job - just drop it down - it was only pre 85 cars with the other style of radiator
