Sadly I was out and missed what the ES fetched
There was just one bid for £16,000 so looks like an ES is worth only half the price of an E. Sale provisional only.

Suprised me the final bid for the ES, if the person gets it they will have got a nice car.

In my opinion the 1800E at the auction fetched a fair price at £31,500. It was in nice condition and perhaps not truly concours, but then if it had been it would have made £40,000, or even more. The good cars are rare today and so can fetch what some may feel are very high prices.
If a car is genuinely concours its unlikely to be driven as a useable classic, it will sadly become a show pony only, IMO.
