Anybody got a link for buying an update of VIDA software?

Mines a couple of years old and I don't have the Electrical wiring and diagnostics data, which I'd like to have. At the same time get the 2014D to run on Windows 8, my 2012a only ever successful on XP platform (now on Oracle VM)

Probably a silly question but do I have to have the dice unit to connect Vida on laptop to the car?

I bought a Grom mts4 and my stereo won't turn on now, looks like I need this MOST patch and need Vida to install this patch, why is this stuff so bloody difficult???? A simple aux in included in my 04 stereo was apparently too much to ask for!

yes.

you can run VIDA without it, but the only way to make VIDA talk to the car is to have a DiCE unit.

I am thinking about getting vida/dice. My first step is to get a suitable laptop.

The original post said windows XP Sp2 and preferably 4gb RAM. Looking at the recent ebay ads it seems that it is the 2014 version of vida/dice which is available and it says it only works on win7. Also a number of posts refer to win7.

My question is, should I be getting a computer with windows XP or win7 to run vida/dice 2014. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, Im the original author of the thread.

As far as I know, newer versions of VIDA will run on a wider range of machines. I *think* VIDA2014 will play nicely with win7 / 8.

I can only advise specifically on the set-up that I use, and that is VIDA2012 with XP.
