They've probably got more to lose so will have deeper pockets when it comes to getting their lawyers on the case.

Under the libel and defamation act 2013 (Protection for those publishing material on a matter of public interest where they reasonably believe that it is in the public interest) there is nothing within the thread that exposes the original poster to any action.

What I don't understand is why you haven't.
A. Rejected the car as unfit for purpose.
B Why you paid for it without checking ALL the faults were corrected first
C Why you haven't commissioned an independent engineers report
D Did you pay at least the deposit on a credit card? If so you have redress against them.
E Had the work done elsewhere as I believe the Selekt warranty is not dealer specific.

As you can see there are ways to go. Why waste any more time on Harrats.

That's assuming everything is all true (it's also just the 'Defamation Act 2013'). The problem, of course, is that it's still possible for Harratts or anything in that position to "sue you into oblivion". Doesn't matter if they are wrong or right, the cost as an individual defending something like that would overwhelm most. They are very much exposed to action - whether they would lose or win is another matter altogether.

Answer to above
A: I have no power to reject it as it was purchased on finance and I was told by Santander that if I do give it back they will chase me for the money they don't get involved under trading standards law I am not the owner

B: Problems with the vehicle was addressed in test drive and was told it's had a inspection and problems would have been rectified.the first few weeks of driving I started to realise it had serious issues and I constantly had it back to garage

C:I can't afford to be paying for an independent report when it needs tires they were on the limit when they sold it

D: I paid a cash deposit

E: I struggling to get a garage to work on it because they say warranty won't pay for diagnosing/ inspections I have to lay the cash down
I'm not paying a penny towards either I'm writing to the MD Nick at volvo uk I can't even get a garage to do tracking cause of steering rack

Nearly every service document I get with my car/cars has an incorrect mileage reading stated on them. It seems common pratice for the Techs to just guess what the miles were when filling in the paperwork.

With that in mind, they will simply state a clerical error!

What was the mileage on the car when bought? If it's the same as service docs. Hmm very dodgy. Have they offered to take car back?

They can't sue you if everything you have stated is true (and I have no doubt it is) they don't have any grounds and their solicitor should advice them it is not in their interest to start any proceedings.

How much is an AA engineers report..from the perspective of a potential buyer?

Have you considered going to a local newspaper and see if they are interested in your story?

I am unsure who oversees the issuing of MOT certification authority, but could you find out who it is and contact them in what appears to be a case certainly worthy of investigation by them.

I am not casting doubt on your claims, but what is the point of new tyres on something apparently dangerous to drive?
