Just wondering who has put their order in for a new model? If so, what spec did you go for?

No-one? I'm surprised.

We're going to Johnsons in Oxford on 6th/7th of June to have a look and we'll take it from there. It'll come down to the numbers of course, as these things inevitably do.

I'm desperate for adaptive cruise though - OMG.

I have ordered a T8 R-Design. Being told though September for delivery. There is not much on this form regarding the new XC90 whereas swedespeed has a huge amount of information albeit American based. Perhaps there is not the interest in the UK. Currently have a V60 D6.

I think more will order once the first batch are out, any issues are reported,it has proved itself, and discounts are readily available. Big chunk of cash is around £55k for a mid spec XC90.

There'll be more interest when you can actually go to a dealer and see one / sit in one / drive one.

I can appreciate that.

I specced one with the extras I wanted and it was £58K. It is a lot but still much less than the £70K JLR want for the base RR.

Fair comment. Thing is though RR owners don't seem to care, JLR have the 'name', so JLR know they can charge more or less what they want, unfortunately. In such cases, sometimes better to lease.

with almost 30,000 orders already placed by customers who probably haven't seen one yet, I don't think lack of interest is a problem!

Yes I have part ex'ed my current car. The dealer has given me a fixed price from January when I ordered. The figure I got back then was comparable with market price at the time so was really happy that by the time it comes to September that the deal will be even better, which is why I have gone for it. Having already had a hybrid I wanted to carry on. The price difference between the T8 and the D5 on comparable specs by the time the incentives are taken off is only around £4-5K.
