Xc90 2004 d5 positive crankcase pressure.help please
Hi, I have had my 2004 163 d5 xc90 for over a year and I love it.
I am having issues with oil blowing past the oil filler cap, noise when I take it off, steam when it's off and from the dip stick as well as from the pcv condensor cap/top. I have changed the oil filter housing for a second hand one, I have checked all the vacuum system and changed the engine mounts, turbo controller and vacuum pump. I have also changed the brake servo as when I clamped the pipe from the vacuum pump to the brake servo the sound Went? I have changed the oil and filter. I have cleaned from the turbo to the intercooler, replaced the intercooler for a new one and cleaned the pipes to the intake manifold. I have opened the intake manifold and cleaned that as well. There was a large oily mass by the egr in the alluminium pipe from the intercooler when I cleaned it and the inlet manford was oily. I have changed the air filter and cleaned the pipes from the top of the engine to the pcv condensor and the pipe to the intake of the turbo. I am now at a loss as I don't know what else to Do? The car drives great, goes like stink, no smoke or bad noises. It has done 115000 miles. I have spent a fortune on her recently with new brake calipers, new clutch and dual mass flywheel, rebuilt the transfer box and new drive shafts. All in all I'm up to my guts for the sum of £3000! Any suggestions (that don't involve setting it on fire lol) Many thanks craig |

Be quick, you don't want to be blowing the seals, or the core plug. See the total blockage here in the holes from block to PCV trap and the trap itself weight a great deal more than the new replacement!
Id drive it very gently with the dip stick out for the moment until you get chance to fix it. Did mine very recently http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=268230 Last edited by The vast minority; Jun 8th, 2017 at 05:15. |
