Thanks to Simon for responding sooooo quickly! Unfortuntely it seems someone replaced my radio headset at some stage so have to wait a few hours to try what seems to be a code written on it... Fingers crossed. Otherwise it's back to Simon with the radio serial number!

Thanks again Simon.

The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code...It usually begins with M++++++ or V++++++

Remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

===================================
Here is a video showing how to remove a standard radio from the dashboard.
A pair of extractors are required (available from Ebay etc ) but these can be made from 2 pieces of bent, wire coat-hanger or 4 small drills(using the blunt end) or 4 small Allen Keys or 4 small screwdrivers or 4 nails or even 4 darts.

An assistant is useful to pull the radio out whilst you are releasing the 4
securing clips

BIG thank you to Simon for sorting my radio code on Friday. Local Volvo dealer in Newcastle couldn't/wouldn't help as not the original radio but Simon sorted it in an hour.

I've just bought a 850 estate. I have the radio code, but can't input it. What do I do?

At first the radio display came up saying "CODE", but I didn't have the code at that point. By the time I found it among some paperwork in the glove compartment the display message had changed to "OFF". I rang a local dealer and he said reset it for an hour, but it was left overnight and it still said "OFF" when I went to it this morning.

I also tried disconnecting then reconnecting the battery, but to no avail.

Any advice?

Thumbs up

Another note of thanks to Rufe (Simon) for helping out with the radio code for my 850 — above and beyond.
