Heated Seat Parts
Ok, I've got the heater parts for the seats to go into the seat and I've got the heater panel but the lovely little black box that sits under the seats, isn't there... (Typical nothing simple on this car)
So does anyone have these available for sale? Secondly would like to double check my heated seat parts will connect into the black box. Picture attached. Thanks |

What colours are the wires going in to the connector, as that looks more like the power seat feed rather than the 4 pin connector used for the seat heaters.
It is more involved than simply adding the heater mats, control module and switches, the car will need software for the switch to control the heaters, this might be possible to add to the car at a main dealer but it won't be cheap. If I were you I would look in to fitting an aftermarket set of heaters to the seats, have a read of This for how I did this job on a set of leather seats out of an S60 - Mike |

Yes they are close but not quite. As that lead is directly from the heated seat pads and not from under the seat. The wires coming out of it are red and white.
I wouldn't of though the ECU would need the software.. that's a shame as I've got the heater panel with switches coming and I would of that the connectors into that would just go directly into the black heater box under the seat into the pads and bingo Majorly disappointed if that's the case. Can easily sort out the aftermarket ones would just prefer the original ones... |

You need to use the CAT phone and call Gatos for parts.

On the larger Volvo models 2001 onwards require software to get seat heaters working, I am not 100% sure on the x40 though so it might work. Under the drivers seat there should be the following wires in the plug:
Red/ White Black Green/ Red Under the passenger seat there should be the following wires: Blue/ Red Black Pink/ White - Mike |
