Hi

Today I updated my module to the latest version of the firmware and bootloader. After the files were sent and all looked ok, my phone starts disconnecting and reconnecting in about 10 second intervals. I tried to send the files again, but no improvement. It then got stuck in "Please wait" and it accepted the files but the message stuck.
Then I did the USB recovery and it went as expected and I was once again able to connect my phone to it.
But, the disconnection-problem is still there. Before the update it worked flawlessly.
I managed to also get the "SIM ERROR" message, I guess I must have reconnected the cable by mistake. Can that result in the constant disconnecting? It was doing it before I did the USB-reset.

Am I doing something wrong?

//Andreas

have you used the usb recovery procedure that is mentioned a few posts before?
if so then you have to read the whole process (until the last line) . the license is missing.

and yes, the error message is due to the connected SIM slot cable, you have to unplug it first. after that you will be able to see the code required for license generation.

Hi I am picking up my first Volvo at the weekend, it’s a 2003 S60 T5 and has the built in phone with the keypad where the cupholder usually is and the SIM card slot. I was originally looking for info on replacing the whole system (phone and stereo) with a double din apple CarPlay screen that I have but can’t seem to find much info on doing that. However your kits look like a good solution. Please could you tell me if it’s compatible with my car and how much please?
Thanks
Craig

Well that’s disappointing! I’m hoping there’s another way round the stereo and phone replacement to work either a CarPlay unit or a Bluetooth integration like this I can find before the weekend other wise it may be the deal breaker that has me buying another Jaguar instead of the Volvo

both are options

there's a bluetooth plugin that goes in the back where the CD changer goes

or replacing with a double din unit is very easy. the only thing to remember really is don't unplug the A/C panel with the battery connected or you'll throw up an SRS fault which needs VIDA to reset

the rest is very much just exactly like it is with any other car to be honest, just buy the right adaptor plate and leads. there's an extra lead if you have an amp, but that's not complicated either

various posts about it on here

It’s a shame really as this phm Bluetooth module really is the business. I’ve got one in my T5 with the premium audio and subwoofer and the epic sound system is one of my favourite parts of the car.

I would like to introduce my product: Volvo BT Phone P2v2.
You can simply replace obsolete GSM modem in the PHM by this Bluetooth module. And you can enjoy these new features:

Hands-Free:
- it's not a GSM phone module anymore but Bluetooth Hands-Free with the use of original microphone (in rearview mirror) and speaker (drivers seat)
- contacts are read out from the connected cellphone (max. 350 - 500 contacts, depends on original GSM modem: Ericsson - 350; Wavecom - 500).
- maximum of 16 paired devices (just one active connection).
- automatic connection with last connected cellphone, if not find then it tries to connect to any paired
- incoming and outgoing calls on the Dashboard + you can see it also on the radio (if not muted, depends on settings).
- same control like before - buttons on Steering wheel and Phone module. Green button - accept the call, red button - reject the call
- DTMF tones are also supported

Music in the radio:
- you can listen the music from your cellphone in the radio (A2DP + AVRCP).
- you can set the module into following radio modes: CD-CHANGER (all HU radios supports it), MD-CHANGER (only HU-x0x radios) or SAT (only HU-x5x radios).
- Song ID tags on the radio. Spotify is working too. (MD-CHANGER or SAT mode)
- Remaining or total time (CD-CHANGER or MD-CHANGER mode).
- next / previous button on the radio or Steering wheel is working. In the SAT mode just on the radio.
- if you have the RTI or another device connected to the MELBUS, you need "Y" cable. It's not a part of package.

Another features:
- simple firmware update and extra settings via Bluetooth. You can use smartphone or laptop.

Supported cars:
- S60 (2000-2009)
- V/XC70 (2000-2007)
- S80 (2000-2006) - PHM with the SIM slot under buttons.

Caution: iPhone works well but it doesn't support send files via Bluetooth! For the first run you will probably need a laptop or smartphone with Android or Windows Mobile.

Everything just by replacing one board in the PHM module. Nothing that marred the interior of the car.
