Question Driver's window master switch problem

Hello there,
I have a problem with the master switch of my V40 - 2002 on the driver's door.

Everything work fine except the rear left window.

It goes down but not up.

Also led light of this switch doesn't lit.

The rear left door switch works fine and the window goes up and down.

Any idea to fix it other than change the master switch completely?

Thanks

ps: should I introduce myself anywhere?

Default window switches -do a search for more info.

Hi Ulver,
I'm only responding as no one else has yet. Probably as this is quite a common problem and there are many threads about it. Use the search tool and there should be a lot of info about it. Well there is on the V70 96-2000 forum - I ve just moved over.
You can tease the switch out and check/clean the connections ( or just the one not working - (if it aint broke don't fix). However - use the search button and you will find a variety of suggested problem faults and cures. The new replacements are pricey and second hand ones tend to have the same issues.
I found a multimeter and fine sandpaper/connector cleaner allowed me to fix my old V70 door switch - but I am not familiar with the v40 one yet......

OP

I had a similar issue with the driver window, so I switched the part which makes it press the connection to a window in the back which is being used less. Somehow it ended up working perfectly back and the driver side got also fixed.

When you take a part everything you'll see the sticks (the buttons) you can take those out of the whole switch board and on the stick you will see small plastic part, that part was broken.

Default My v70 window switch stays lit ALL THE TIME!

My 2000 v70 has a problem with the master window switch also, and it is kinda opposite of your problem. The led stays lit all the time, even when the car is turned off! I have replaced the master switch unit and the problem still remains. All the windows work properly. Any idea what could be causing ONLY the master window switch control to stay lit all the time?! Thanks

Do you see these white things?

You can remove these by just lifting them up. They have a pointy part at the bottom, mine was broken so I switched it with the rear window since I barely use it.
