Would I be right in assuming that this carried over to the V70? My recently aquired '97(R) TDI SE was serviced by the garage where I bought it, but the service light started coming on last week, a phone call to the garage confirmed the trip reset procedure but it doesn't work!
As I am unable to get the car to them until after a weeks holiday at Easter (when I will be doing c1500 miles), does anyone know a dodge or have I got to resort to a piece of black tape over the light?
Cheers All
Brian

Does the service light not go out about 30 seconds after the ignition is turned on? It's more a reminder, not a fault warning.

Hi Jim
Sometimes the light does go out after about 5 minutes, but it has stayed on for 1 hour+

My (96 850 Tdi) handbook states that the service light remains on for two minutes after the ignition is switched on, it certainly never stays on. It's set by either, or all - time in months/engine running hours or mileage covered since last reset, depending on model and year.

My light stayed on for approx 2 mins, it's off now as my local indy has reset it :)
