850R Top engine mounting
Hello all
I've got a knock noise not knocking as it only happens once - hard to explain when I reverse out of my drive way, pulling out of a junction I get this knock which I can feel through the steering wheel, the wheels are not on full lock, looked over the car and the steering seems ok and also when you wobble the wheels, but I have noticed that the top engine mounting has a split in it which I'm having replace on the 29 March, this split appears to allow the engine to move more than it should - could this be the problem or has the garage got to look elsewhere. Thanks for any help - lets keep the garage costs down. BJ 850R |

Don't replace with the standard item, now's the time to get a poly bush from Kalmar Union.
A search will show the advantages and (minor) disadvantages. |

RE: 850R Top engine mounting
You'll hear an occasional knock when you accelerate or back off as the engine rocks and hits its stops.
Not something to let go on too long or the bottom mounts will go and that's a more lengthy and expensive fix. |
