Electrics: 70: - How is the foglight bulb retained in holder

V70 TDI 1998
I removed the foglight bulb by twisting the retainer anti clockwise and unclipped it from the electrics. However I cannnot work out how to get the bulb back in the holder without the two spring/connectors just pushing it back out. Am I missing a clip or something?

I am reluctant to take the other one apart as a previous owner has an eleborate number of pastic straps holding it in place and it is secure and working

If I remember right, it's just a bit fiddly. Don't think you are missing any bits.

keeping the bulb located where its meant to sit in the lens housing and at the same time locating the two square plastic lugs on the retainer and then turning that till it locks.
Think I cursed and struggled with it at first also, then realised it was actually almost as straight forward as it should have been.

Maybe I plugged the terminal and bulb in first, I'm not sure now
