Question 2007 C30 2.0D - Drivers' Seat Jammed in Wife's Position

Hi all,

My trusty old 2007 C30 has been running great for a while now but typically, right before MOT time its developed an annoying fault..

The drivers' seat has jammed in my wife's forward driving position and despite all sorts of fiddling with it I can't budge it an inch

My wife is 5ft 4ins and I'm 6ft 4ins and so I can't fit behind the wheel at all!

The inside seat runner (the one nearest the gearstick) seems to be the problem and I can't see anything obstructing it. The release lever at the front of the seat underneath doesn't seem to have any effect on it either and I'm guessing this is what the problem is.

Has anyone else had this and/or is it a common fault? Any suggestions on how I might be able to free it up?
