Ebay - p1800, fake listings
There are more fake listings on ebay - currently there are three listings for red p1800s - all from the same (presumably hacked) account.
They just want your email address - the presumption is if you're gullible enough to fall for a fake listing, you're a good candidate for other ruses - fraud |

For those who may not be aware of this situation: ~ I am a member of another classic car club and this issue keeps popping up—apparently the advertisements all follow a very similar format being generated from Russia? They have been reported as fraudulent listings to ebay but as fast as they remove the advert another poops back! A range of collector cars are listed not just Volvo.
If it smells—it smells!!- take care & drive carefully! Bob. |

I remember this scam from about 20 years ago, one of the target cars for this scam was a Datsun Skyline 240K Gt injection on an X reg (1981/2) with photos they'd hacked from the Datsun Owners Club website.
At the time the car in question was about 18 years old and allegedly low mileage, immaculate etc. Like Dai said, as soon as the request to view it was made, it was turned down and i was told i had to bid, same as everyone else. I didn't, but continued watching it. Sure enough the bidding went high and it was sold then a few weeks later it was relisted with no excuses as to why it was back. This pattern repeated itself several times over the course of a few months, each time payment in full had to be made by Paypal before collection details were given. Whether they're using the same techniques/modus operandus or have updated it, i don't know but will be interesting!
