The Flywheel can go on in 8 different positions, be sure to mark TDC before removal

Thanks again, yeah twin webers would be nice, the day I win the lottery I'll do it!
Good point about the Crank sensor, it is carb fed yeah but it must be there for a reason :/
I've been at it tonight with my headtorch on, can't get the dizzy out but I removed the fuel pump and the intermediate shaft is just rattling around in there!
Will my new 740 engine with the head mounted dizzy still have the same intermediate shaft running the fuel and oil pump? With the gear there for running a block mounted dizzy?

The Bendix-Rex ignition system used with the Cisac carb on B230K engines is electronic, controlled by a crank position sensor in the usual position above the flywheel.
If you dispense with the carb and all the vacuum pipes and things you can fit an ordinary distributor with a traditional ignition system, or a bolt-on electronic ignition if you wish. You can also fit an ordinary carb like the earlier Stromberg, or go for a more exotic Weber setup.

I presume you could use the wiring and all the components from one of the injection systems. The crank sensor looks the same but I don't know whether they are interchangeable. I have a dim recollection of some having 3 terminals and some 2, but I might be wrong.

Engines almost ready to come out, found the other end of the intermediate shaft floating around in the block after removing the alternator, alternator bracket was also snapped in the blow out. Distributor is now out, few more spot welds on the slam panel to find and drill out.
Been speaking to Seb on the phone who gave me good advice on the swap. I'll try put up some pics but currently won't let me

A reminder of how 9mm rods can let go at any time, even with no boost

I've quit drinking as of this year so there's about 5k saved so you never know I might finally be able to build an engine next year with stronger rods and a set of webers.. Or a 350 chevy
