Ball joint dust cover?

Old girl passed her MOT today but have got advisory's for Near and Off side front lower suspension arm ball joint dust cover deteriorated but preventing the ingress of dirt.

I have searched the forum but to no avail, is it a DIY job to replace and any idea on part #'s.

It is DIY do-able if youare handy with the spanners, search wishbone replacing or similar.http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...light=wishbone

My guess would be that it is the balljoint that links the wishbone to the wheelhub. Will take a photo tonight and post it here. Littlehomer had the same problem and I sent him a whole wishbone, as the balljoint needs some pressure to be removed and a new one to be fitted

if its just an advise that they are perished.... and you cant buy the rubber covers seperately.... id leave them alone untill the ball joints are worn out and then fit new ball joints, as it can be a troublesome job to the DIYer. if you CAN get the covers you will be pretty much doing the hard part of swapping the ball joint just to fit the covers. ball joints dont last forever anyway so id save myself the hassle and change them when they fail the mot...

Working through some MOT fails during the lock down. This was one of them but that eBay link doesn't work anymore. I see plenty of choice - can anyone advise the right size or update the link for me?

Look at Clarkey's thread, he found some. The lower swivels split and squash flat, not letting dirt in or much grease out. Rubber boots every time, the ball joint is a mutha to press out and press in!

I got these ones, they are listed as small, but both the hole sizes are within the parameters of what should fit, I'll report back once I've changed mine.
