Hi guys, not posted since i have sold my T4 an age ago now... and yes u miss it. Have lurked around from time to time, the reason im writing is because this is without doubt the best car forum out there with the help and knowledge we all share.
I have had a merc c220 om651 since i left and had an annoying P0122 error which doesn't affect the driving but leaves the eml on. I swapped over yesterday the electrical throttle body for a used one but have another different code. I have investigated my original throttle body by taking the cover off to the electrical area and it was dripping with oil. My question is would this cause shorting and could cause the low voltage error code i was initially getting? TIA

Morning , Hope this helps , If you have oil dripping from the throttle body it will not cause a short . however the oil may well act as an insulator and result in the ECU failing to obtain accurate readings .

You may well find the potentiometer in the throttle body is a mechanical device & not enjoying the life in a sea of oil . Also ensure you clean off any oil from the connector before refitting to eliminate the possibility of the oil acting as an insulator , possibly affecting the voltage to/ from the sensor .

Thanks, yes if the oil affects it then i think that was my problem, already renewed the gaskets so shouldnt be a problem going forward. The connector outside was spotless but inside... well it wasnt.
Thank you

I have a Merc C180K, some Merc engines suffer from oil in the wiring loom from a leaking cam magnet, usually the M271 engine which can cause eml to light up, not sure if this applies to your engine. There is a \Mercedes forum which may offer some help...
