Rear a bit low
Hi all, I am the proud new owner of a sparkling (old) XC70 2.4 Auto in a fabulous metallic red with cream leather upholstery, having downgraded (in years anyway) from a Skoda Octavia Scout, which has been a great car.
I took a bit of a risk I think, as it is a petrol auto with 140k, but I have worked out that without the loan on the Skoda I am saving money despite 25mpg! However, I think the rear springs are a bit weak as it seems to sit a bit low at the back end, & feels a bit wallowy. Does is have self levelling suspension, or anything flash like that? Or is it a matter of just a set of new rear springs? No doubt I will be featuring here more in the future, and if you are lucky I might even put a photo or two up of it, once it stops raining! |

Jolly good, either I am alone in this or no one has read this post - apart from 32 people.
Anyway, as it happens I have found out all on my own that I do have self levelling rear suspension and I am going have to work extra hard to pay for replacements! Bang goes my birthday present anyway! Tell me they are worth it please...? |

Hey Captain, sorry - I think a lot of people would have read your post and genuinely not known the answer. This thread is for the newer 07 on XC's.
As Tommy said there, what year is the car? And for future reference how much are you looking at? Also, let us know if it fixes the problem or not as in a few years one of us might be reading this again..! |

Fair enough, thanks for the replies.
It is a 2001, and it has these wretched Nivomat rear shocks on - very clever but over £300 EACH! And then they need fitting! Even if I got some second hand ones I still don't know if they will be any better. Thanks for the heads up on the posting position, being a 2001 where would a better place be to ask these sort of questions? |

If it's a 2001 you'd be better posting here:
