Default GSM vs Bluetooth

Hi all,
I decided to ask my question here after having browsed through a few posts.
I have purchased a 2nd-hand Volvo XC70 in April 2011. The model is from Jan 09.
It has a built in SIM card slot, so I can put in any SIM card. But when the car was sold to me, the salesperson said there was a Bluetooth function and after playing with the settings, I couldn't find the option. So i found out about the fact that you either had the GSM built in OR the bluetooth as part of the spec.
So my question is: do you think I can get Volvo to simply update the firmaware so I can have the Bluetooth function ? (My guess is 'no', but waiting for hope).
I think the salesperson made a wrong statement by mistake when he said there was Bluetooth, I can't blame him really.
Thanks for your reply.
Fred

Yes I have explored all the menus, and there is nothing related to Bluetooth. I really envy this function, and again, I am wondering how easy/cheap it could be for Volvo to update my current configuration.
An hints on that ?

I did see it.... I fail to see how it works actually. And I don't know the price above all.
So basically, it's a device that links the car phone to my handphone via Bluetooth ? How does the device connect to the car system ? via wire ?

The car doesnt have a car phone at all, The kit links the car speakers and microphone to your mobile phone in your pocket via bluetooth radio waves ..
when you get in your car the mobile phone in your pocket automaticaly connects to the car bluetooth kit and you can make and receive calls using voice commands without touching your phone in your pocket and the sound comes through the car audio system ..
Price is several hundred pounds , best contact a dealer for prices .
It is a good answer to the use of mobile phones safely in a car ..
