P2 track rod ends, don't make the same mistake I did.
For anyone who's in the market for track rod ends, the 6 quid a go Moog ones on offer at euro car parts do NOT fit, despite my reg number input saying that they do, as they have an M12 hole whereas the P2 track rod is M14, I combined my purchase with a 40 percent off code so got a pair delivered for like a tenner, but the y don't fit as they are, luckily we have a CNC shop at work so I just bored the hole with a 12.5mm bit and retapped them with the correct M14 x 1.5mm tap, but not everyone has that option, you have been warned lol.

Yep had the same problem here in Spain Clarkey. Another trip to the Spares shop. There is obviously a change in production that has not been picked up in the aftermarket.

Indeed so bimmer, I also didn't realise that the standard ones are handed, in that they are slightly offset, and these Moog ones are straight, so with the car jacked up the track rod hits the anti roll bar on full lock, although this only happens with it jacked up, it doesn't appear to be doing it with the car on the ground, although me running honda civic droplinks hasn't helped, as with those the ARB sits about an inch higher than it normally would.

Strange, I had a good experience with the Moog TRE's from ECP. I do have a set of the straight TRE's, but apparantly the straight ones were on P1 x40's, and the sided/offset/handed ones are on P2 x40's. You just gotta make sure which ones you're buying.

what year was your car out of interest?
the LBJs changed to M14 in 2007, maybe the track rods did too

Mine's a 2002, i very much suspect that they're phase 1 ones, they work alright now they've been drilled and tapped to M14, as the body of it was exactly the same size apart from the smaller hole, seems fine so far.
