Default Turning alarm off.

Hi, not posted for a while as had a trouble free time with the car , however that has now changed,
V70 on a 55reg, the keyfob has decided it does not want to always unlock the car, will lock ok and the wifes fob works fine.
Obviously i can unlock the door with the key but every time i open the door the alarm goes off,
Is there a way of opening the door then turning the alarm system off.
as i say works perfectly with one key and starts ok with both keys.
Thanks in advance Dunc

Hello Dunc

The backup method to get in and turn off the alarm with the key is supposed to be to put the key in the ignition and turn it on after opening the door.

From what I can remember it's the method of entry if the battery on the remote is flat.

On that note, have you tried a new fresh battery on the remote? You could also try changing the push button switches in the remote.

Thank you, yes changing the battery was my first course of action, had similar problems a while ago , new battery cured it but not this time.

If your alarm siren has never been replaced, you may want perhaps to remove its fuse (google up about siren problems) https://youtu.be/_5a5rHlRS8Q
Yours being a facelift, I'm not sure if it's different, but on my 2003, opening the door or the trunk with the physical key doesn't not trigger the alarm. Otherwise, when the siren starts ringing, only the fob can stop it (unlock door button)
