XC90 D5 - 2008 Cylinder Head replacement

Help I've just had a oil leak checked by my garage and he's showed me my cylinder head has had a botch job fix (liquid metal).

Could someone give me details of the best place to go to source a replacement Cylinder head. There seems to be varying prices differences when checking eBay / Google.

I bought the car from a dealer just over 2 months ago, so I'm going back to him for compensation under the Consumer Right Act.

Thanks in adance for any advice, support.

I would liaise with the dealer first and give them the opportunity to correct the problem - it is possible that they were completely unaware of it and are also "victims" in this.

Don't tell them that you've had someone else look at it, that'll have a big impact on your rights.

Thanks after going through numerous threads on here and speaking to a couple of other Volvo speacialist it seems my problem could be the swirl arm and gasket. I pointed in the direction of Read View Volvo specialist in Accrington so have it booked in for the 17th March. I'll update after that.........

That sounds plausible and it's better than a new head....

Swirl flaps / gasket was the cause and Read View Volvo fixed that and a number of other issues at very reasonable cost.

Excellent team, very knowledgeable and excellent customer service.
