Taiter New Member Last Online: Apr 19th, 2020 10:46 Join Date: Jan 2019 Location: Kirkwall	Alternator Issues I have a 2010 S40 2.0D RDesign. The alternator packed in some time ago and was replaced with an aftermarket unit. Since then I've had no end of issues! The issues I am experiencing are that the radio cuts out when driving, more over when entering junctions, but not specifically on here; the headlights flicker when driving and when turning the steering wheel when stationary; reversing lights flicker when reversing. I've had the alternator checked where I was told that the unit failed the ripple test. The alternator was replaced on the grounds that the unit was faulty. I'm now on my 3rd replacement - all with the same issues. I'm now contemplating changing to a genuine Volvo unit. The car had a software update in July 2017. Any help would be welcome! Thanks.
