Koni sport yellows front struts
Today I have finished fitting the Koni sport yellows front struts inserts,
I already have koni rears fitted, eibach springs, the springs I have had fitted for 3 years, I have only gone down the road with the car , I have set the adjustment to 1 turn from soft, it will do 2.5 turns, the car now is more level going round corners/roundabouts and more positive steering, better over bumps and potholes , I will play with the settings, my old shocks had no gas left in them and I think was the original from new, my D5 has only done 84k miles but is a 2002, I will see how it feels over the next few days, Dave |

It's a T5. The turbo has had uprated bearings and a bigger billet wheel fitted I believe. It's a custom tune. The original MAF maxed out so a bigger one was fitted. New turbo has 1300kg of air running through it. I think the stock turbo is 1100. No idea what the boost pressure is. Basically, it was a case of finding the right person to do the work I wanted, asking him to do it whenever convenient for him and leaving him to do what he thought was best. Then paying him for parts and when he'd done certain jobs. Frustrating at times for both of us as the car was a real pain but worked through it and now she's nearly finished. The tuning continued after the fuel pump went kaput so an uprated pump was fitted. It's running great now - very pleased with it. Ok, I could have bought a newer car with what I have spent on it but there are not many of these around. Done 82K now and drives like a new car - that said many of the parts are new. I am desperate for a foam insert for the spare wheel, I need the air con sorting out, the coil overs done then sorting the paint though might be a bit pointless living in Cornwall. Need to do an oil change soon but that's about it. Oh, and sell all the parts from my shed as the wife was surprised how much stuff is in it |

Hi Alan
Your car sounds very nice now, I have a do88 intercooler in my D5, I can not wait to see what your car makes on the dyno, I hope all goes well, Dave |

Someone told me a car with similar mods was doing 362.5 BHP but if it's around the 350 mark I would be more than happy. Only had it back for a couple of months and already looking at Garrett turbos - need to slap myself a little. |

Finally found the time to sort out the starter motor actuator cable connection - the lead came adrift about ten days ago.............whacked it back on one of the the solenoid's three 4mm spades and it started BUT when I got home it wouldn't start again.
Somehow, I'd managed to put the spade on the wrong connector in the car park. God knows how it started on the wrong connector which is why it took me fifteen minutes to work out what was wrong. I finally realised what had happened when I looked at the starter motor I had taken out last year and used the same terminal position which was cleanest with scratch lines from the spade! DUMMY ALAN!

Drove to Shell garage to fill up on V Power before Dyno run to find the garage had put price up to £1.45 a litre as it's half-term and lots of holiday makers.
Stuck in traffic on A30 due to holiday makers. Finally got to garage to do Dyno run to be told it's broken. The part is en route from Germany so now have to wait until middle of June Took the back roads back to where I live - broken down car. Tuned round and got stuck with the holiday makers on the A30. Nice day off |
