New V70 but a few issues
I'm now an owner of 2003 V70 D5 S. 62000 miles from new but has laid up for 2 years as it's a private ambulance. Anyway I've changes oil and filter and put some cleaning additive in fuel and had a slipping clutch changed and that's it so far.
Problems??? Squealing noise on acceleration and some deceleration. Sounds like slipping belt but believe it's not. Power has got less since squealing has increased. Squeaking noise from steering when turning. It's got cassette CD player with the pop up 2003 NAV, I want to put a double DIN head unit with Bluetooth and NAV. Lastly it's got grey velour heated seats and I want leather. Will XC70 seats fit my car? Many thanks Last edited by rc2870; Apr 22nd, 2018 at 08:00. |

Regarding the seats - the XC ones fit. The wiring to them changed with the facelift cars, so you need a 2004 or older seat to replace them with, if you want 'plug and play'.

I think reggit meant you want 2001-2003 seats, as mentioned the 2004 seats are completely different in front (not sure about the rear one)
Car battery disconnected at all time when replacing the seats and better bring a mate as the seats are not only heavy, but also very difficult to pull out from the car. I prefer removing the head rest first but these are really hard to remove. Also, first slide both seats - own and donor - so as to expos both bolts - rear and front ones, and lower the seats at max after unplugging the connectors. The big plastic box with the main connectors has a plastic cover that simply pulls open from one end and has a hinge on the other end. You also probably have the two rear incline levers which help fold the seat completely. As for the belt, quickly remove the serpentine belt and turn all pulleys by hand (check the alternator clutch pulley as well). Critical, before the belt snaps and takes the engine down.
