SOAB.

Might as well also buy a 2.4i to complete the 5 banger collection.

Honestly the D5 is great went up to Scotland and back to the wirral just over 1/4 tank left just over 400 miles not hanging about all the way. Just I never got on with the autobox, too restrictive and never does what you actually would like it to.
Early days for the T5 but seems promising only time will tell. The D5 goes once I sort the wife's 'Burg though.

Great stuff!

What bothers me now is that our cars are cheap enough (once folk realise anyway) for them to change hands regularly and perhaps get abused (no-one on here would do that obvs) I've already seen one V50 locally used by a tradesman (painter) like a kinda van and I'm starting to see scruffy examples around with unfixed damage and whatnot.

Keep up the good work and keep our motors in top condition everyone

I just bought a little 1.3 suzuki so that I can do my town driving in that. T5 is just awful on fuel so I'd keep hold of that D5 if I were you.

The funny thing about these particular T5's is there is no "honeymoon" period where you can blame bad MPG on booting it everywhere! Even when you slow down and drive it carefully the MPG is still shocking.

Having the second car does make me appreciate the power and torque and smoothness of the T5 though.

Fuel ain't an issue, I came out of a Monaro into a volvo and my foot was heavy on the loud pedal in that, regularly Seen South of 12mpg on the clocks😎😂 bloody kids
