Alarm system
I took my V70 to the dealer it came from today as the alarm seemed not to be working. I popped away for a coffee and by the time I got back they had finished with it. I only had to pay £20 but it seems like this has been for nothing. I was told that the probable cause of my complete alarm system not working was the dog cage I have in my boot. Having returned home I removed the cage and locked myself in the car. My movement was still not activating the motion detectors. I popped the bonnet and the alarm went off. I then locked the car, from outside this time, unlocked the door with the key and the alarm sounded. Any suggestions from past experiences why (with the exception of the sensors being knackered) these might not be working? Is there a way that the motion detectors can be deactivated other than activating reduced guard when exiting the vehicle?
Its a 2010 V70 D3 SE Thanks |

Problem solved, no thanks to my local dealership.
I don't know why I decided to, but I pulled both of the fuses for the alarm system last night (not what I'd usually do with something that was working) cleaned the terminals with some emery paper, left the car for 5 mins and reinstalled. Job done. system fully functioning again.......with the dog cage still in the boot! |
