Reversing lights
For some reason, my reversing lights aren't working properly. It's an intermittent problem, which will no doubt make it fun to trace. However, all the other lights are fine.
How easy is it to get at the switch on the gearbox? Also, where is the relay for that circuit? I've checked the Haynes manual, and that's no help, beyond a schematic wiring diagram which has no reference to the actual location of many electrial components. RE: Reversing lights
This morning they were working again :-), but I just know that tonight they won't be :-(
There have been no problems using overdrive, so I'm guessing that the gearbox earthing is fine. Any ideas what could be causing this? http://x-files.serveftp.com/paulhark...ture.sized.jpg 1967 Amazon 122S B20 o/d Estate, 1961 A-H Sprite Mk2 948cc |

RE: Reversing lights
THe only time I had brake light trouble it turned out that the reversing lights and horn were also out. So this was a simple fuse issue.
I am slightly wary of the visibility of the brake lights, being low-slung, especially for lorries. I have bought an LED strip which is fixed in the back window, which works a treat. IT is also a backup if the bulbs should fail. Tom |

RE: Reversing lights
Hi. The relay should be located on the nearside inner wing next to the high beam relay and hopefully the relay for your overdrive. The bonnet hinge just misses it when you shut the bonnet. The switch on the gearbox is fiddley, but if you jack the car right up at the front and crawl underneath I think you can get at it. Undo the two philips screws and pull the switch off. There should be a spring dangling down inside the switch which should be visable. This can corrode or get bent or fall off completely.
