Default There is a spider in my HUD!

Driving home tonight and got an enromous fright when what looked like an enormous spider settled across the speed part of my HUD!

Now I am not exactly scared of them, but really am not a fan. So spent the entire journey home staring at the HUD and not wanting to put my legs under the dash in case it dropped out - which did make driving a touch difficult.....

Did contemplate calling Volvo on call but managed to save my pride and didnt call them.

Now I am home it has wandered off somewhere, but I am still a touch uncomfortable in the drivers seat.

So couple of questions-

1. Will it be actually as big it looked, or does the HUD amplify the size like the cameras?
2. Anyone know how to strip the HUD part of the dash top to get under the cover and hopefully I can get the the little blighter out.

I had to read this post a few times just to make sure it's a serious one, after all it's Friday

There should be no poisonous spiders in the UK but I would suggest getting a spray to ensure it's terminated if you are worried.

It might wake you up twice in the middle of the night, once with a nightmare and then when it sets your car alarm off.

I suspect it is a Black Window spider.

OK OK so being all logical there are no poisonous spiders in the UK, I know, they are more scared of you than you are of them etc... I know, I have heard all the logic before...

...but it looked firking huge AND it is still in my car AND I have been transporting lots of old packing cases and waste wood from work recently and most of these originally came from the USA....

So for someone who doesn't like spiders, there being one up under the dash and then having to be strapped in with my legs dangling under said dash is not a good place to be....

Packing cases from America you say, well you’ve had it they have some big buggers out there, you probably woke it up with the heating on in the car. You want to be careful it’s not a Brazilian wandering spider

They have a mouthful of great big sharp carnivorous teeth and they tend to sprint straight for the victims gonads. Have you seen how far they can jump?

The HUD will actually make it appear 75% SMALLER than it actually is.

Personally I would be afraid , very afraid and always wear Football socks pulled up over your trouser legs, 3 pair of underpants and a 4th pair over your head .

I suspect you would not have enjoyed the "stink bug" that wandered across the mirror of my rear projection TV one night... on the 65" screen he appeared the size of a large cat
