You are right, the amazon drives much nicer and is far simpler to work on. I tried taking the dash out to fix what i thought was a screen leak on the 145. After undoing about thirty odd screws and the dash still fixed solid i gave up and put them back.

I have a 1972 145 estate which is tax exempt. The main reason for it is realy just a change. I have had amazons for years so thought i would try the 140 series. To be honest the 145 is more practical to me as a family man. For long distance driving it is better but short driving not so. If the amazon does not sell i shall keep it for my winter car as i have done for the past few years and keep the 145 for summer.

I have to say though that i have always said, the amazon is arguably the best classic car of all time. It ticks just about every box including petrol consumption. There isn't another car that can hold a candle to a well sorted amazon as far as i am concerned but the 145 is close, although ugly in comparison. I think i will be sticking to the 145 but may end up keeping the amazon too, so the best of both worlds i hope.

Hi Dibble, Many thanks I wil certainly keep your seats in mind and a note of your offer, I will wait and see if I get the car, firstly.
Do you still have an Amazon, or have you moved on ?
Cheers, Anthony

Hi Anthony, presently doing up a 1966 Amazon. If you go on to my site you will see the pictures. Been rather slow of late but hopefully engine and gearbox going in next week then couple of chaps coming down from Perth to fit new wiring loom. Thereafter, back to coachbuilders for refitting doors, wings, bonnet and boot etc., resprayed and then look forward to driving her. Going to make Jim C and Kev 240 sit up next year - I hope. I have lots of other bits here so if there is anything you need let me know.
Cheers
Bob

Hi Dibble, I have just fallen foul of the rules, had a nice PM typed out to ask a few questions having viewed your rather impressive picture. Pressed the button and it went into outer space, as I am clearly a novice and have not posted 30 plus messages yet, what an odd rule.

Anyway is there any way we can maybe talk as I have a few questions, which I am sure would only bore the general viewers, welcome your thoughts.
Cheers, Anthony

Many thanks 222s. I have followed your advice. I also like your picture of the Amazon pulling the Sprite, does the car have to be worked hard or is it an easy job for it.
Cheers, Anthony

Working it too hard imho. Next time I'd use a much smaller trailer (that one wasn't much lighter than the Sprite).
