Default why is it they expect a 940 to go so slow

after having my 940 nearly 6 months now im now under the opinion that most people belive the 940 cant shift why is it that they allways cut you up then look mortified that you just booted the big beast up to 90mph in no time at all and left them sitting like a wet fart

Stereotypical "it's only a volvo" and visions of trilby, pipe and slippers.

Yes, with my 16 valver it's a case of drop out of 5th (if the M46 is behaving) or even to 3rd and the BMW that just pushed past on the motorway is suprised to find a large box-shaped thing (with a senile delinquent at the wheel) in pursuit....

Default Yep...

Gotta say, when I let the V90 rip its quite amazing how the fast lane clears!

What I love is watching other newer and "better" cars run out of steam on a hill while shes still pulling like a train!

No turbo & 2 tons of steel, but 204 BHP, 3.0 litres, six cylinders and 24v of pure joy!

All within the speed limits etc etc!

Cheers,
Paul.

I ate a Lexus 200 for breakfast, he looked shocked!
I love the fact that when I get in a sticky situation I just floor the fast pedal and I`m gone!

i agree ith the "its only on old slowvo" as ive heard them called, i had a **** in an audi v6 estate pass me oh the horn and fingers up because i was doing 50, so i just floored it, the auto box droped 2 gears and i passed him just as the box changed up into 4th.. not bad for a limo lol

Even my lowly 2.0l 240 auto shocked me when a bumper merchant decided to overtake on the chevrons!floored it(with steel toecap work boots on)down two gears and whoosh off she lept,he had to give up when we reached 95mph(on a private road of course)I get so fed up with these people.A boy racer in his saxo cut in front of me at a roundabout one day,I was in the right lane to go round and he came up my left side and jumped in front of me!!so I undertook him(legally)on the roundabout and slammed the door on him,After that he kept trying to pass me but didn't have the acceleration to outdo me.He waved at me as I indicated to turn right and stopped just long enough to wind him up.HA HA.
240 must be seen as slow old motors either that or they are so jealous of my car that they just want to touch it(with thier bumper)

Couldn't agree more my V90 is the same, well, it would be wouldn't it - I'll look out for you next time I'm in Southsea and give you a wave.

Cheers,

Jeff.

Haha I'll look out for you... funny I'm always tempted to wave to other 960/90 drivers as it is!

Cheers,
Paul.
