S60 Electrics: - Can I Upgrade My S60 To Have Cruise Control

Does anybody know if it is possible to UPGRADE MY 54 PLATE S60 to have cruise control or does it need to go to a dealer Is wiring already fitted ?

I believe wiring is already there and you will just just need software and the buttons..volvo prices is around 300-400 quid but it can be done for around 100 from Braydons near london..a user called Nuisance on here has recently got this done pm him if should be able to help you along further..

Fitment of the cruise control buttons is very simple, the wiring is already there.

As Mo has said above the price from Volvo was around £400 just for the software upload! They have to protect their aftermarket.... Believe it or not, it's basically a simple "on/off" software switch! With the software not loaded, the VCT and Vadis software will read the status of those buttons quite happily!

IIRC the price from Braydons using their kit to enable the functionality was £100 .

I asked my local stealer about this option on a V40 I was interested in, he said it was just a matter of changing the stalk and upgrading the software. £200.00ish if i remember correctly.

Must be different then software wise, because he tried everywhere and the price for the software upload alone was @ £400.

Not for the S/V40 range which needs a mechanical actuator kit and pedal switches, Stalk , Control unit etc etc . Volvo do quite a few different kits depending on which engine and model year it is .

They've said it all really.... Braydon's Harlow branch is where the magic box of tricks resides.

100 quid plus labour took it up to 125 inc VAT all in... A fair saving on the Volvo price. and it's the proper software, not some pretend thingy.

They'll need the car for a couple of hours as they need to download the file and send it off.

I phoned them up today and they said it would cost £297.24 +vat(2001 V70 2.5D). So they must have decided to chrage people nearly as much as others charge, Typical Main Stealers!
